How to grow + nurture a community before your launch

You’ve decided on that number for your next big launch (5k? 10k? More? 😏) and maybe it makes you just a teensy bit uncomfortable.

Trust me, this is a GREAT thing.

Stepping out of your comfort zone, especially when it comes to your biz, is a sign that you are moving up and growing 📈!

And we’re all about those vibes in this community.

The number is big, you’ve committed to yourself, and now you’re taking friggin action so that your dream becomes your reality. If we’re not already, we should be bff’s.

And if you’re following my 10 Step Launch Strategy for An Effective Launch, then you’ve decided what you’re gonna launch ✔, you’ve done the numbers ✔, and now you’re ready to grow and nurture your community like a #boss.

10k months, we’re coming for ya💸💸

I break it down in 2 main steps:

step one: the growth plan & step two: the nurture method

📈 STEP ONE: THE GROWTH PLAN:

create a killer freebie

Either update your existing freebie or create something fresh. Your freebie should:

  • Provide value by solving their problem. Give your ideal client something they would pay for. They will LOVE you for this.
  • Be relevant to your current launch offer. Think about the first steps into your program and create a bite size piece of it. Then, the people who download your freebie are in line for your service.
  • Have a clear and understandable title.
  • Establish you as an expert. Show them that you know your sh*t!

Remember, this is the doorway to your launch offer and often their first opportunity to get to know you. Make this killer freebie something you believe in. 💕

create an opt-in and thank you page

Make a thank you and opt-in page that WOWS. I’m obsessed with using canva to design images and text that show off my brand.

It’s also a good idea to create a landing page for your opt-in. This streamlines the process and gives you extra opportunities to show off the benefits. For this, I love using leadpages. If you don’t have leadpages, then convertkit also allows you to write and design these.

Now pay attention because this is super important.  After you write and design these pages, take a break and come back to it. Make sure everything is delivered correctly (if someone opts-in, they should get an email IMMEDIATELY), flows, makes sense, and is free of errors. Send yourself (or your bff) a test sequence and get really excited about the thing you just created.

DEVELOP A FOLLOW UP EMAIL SEQUENCE THAT NURTURES THE HECK OUTTA YOUR AUDIENCE

Here are a few examples of great email content:

  • Share what you’re working on.
  • Ask for feedback or include surveys (offer value or an incentive for this!)
  • Offer some valuable resources (things you use as reference)
  • Post teases (make sure you include something special – just for your subscribers)
  • Share your story or “Why”
  • Inspire, motivate, or send love their way!

social media with calls to action

Add Calls to Action to aaallll your social media accounts. Use the link in your Instagram Bio, hyperlink within facebook posts, etc, tell your peeps what actions you want them to take next (think: that sexy new freebie you just created)

Plan and schedule promotional posts in advance so that you’re sharing strategically AND naturally. Don’t be spammy. It’s bad karma.

LIVE EVENTS/IN PERSON MARKETING

There is nothing more personal than a face to face encounter. This is a great way to get people to know, like, and trust you.

Be on the hunt for conferences and events that are relevant to your business. Apply to be a speaker (remember, we’re crushing comfort zones here 😉) or participate in workshops. People will remember you, and your expertise for sure.

GET IN FRONT OF SOMEONE ELSE’S AUDIENCE

Go live in other people’s facebook groups, guest post on relevant blogs, jump into podcasts, youtube, etc. This is a HIGHLY underrated technique, everybody and their aunt has a facebook group these days and we’re all trying to keep them fresh and exciting, add value to someone elses group and you will not only nurture THEIR audience but you also get to collab wit the group owner #winwin

You want to provide multiple touch points and opportunities for people to see you. Show up everywhere, Girl! We all want to see what you have to offer.

🤗 STEP TWO: THE NURTURE METHOD

CREATE CONTENT

Write blog posts and corresponding content that lead to your launch offer. These posts need to offer value in the same way your freebie does. Make sure they:

  • Provide value
  • Have actionable steps
  • Solve a problem

** See “Create killer freebie” above 👆🏻to build blog posts the same way.

SHOW UP IN FACEBOOK LIVES

This is all about visibility and building genuine connections with your audience in ways that social media campaigns and emails can’t touch.

If this is your first time going live and you’re a bit nervous, practice by jumping in other people’s groups or inviting someone to go live with you. This way, you can riff off one another and it will feel like you’re talking to one specific person, rather than a huge audience.

EMAIL THEM

Consistency is 🔑. Pick a timeline that feels right for you and schedule these into your calendar. As a general rule, you should be emailing your list once a week, again, offering value. (have I mentioned this enough? lol)

Make these emails are special for your audience. They’re part of  your exclusive community, so treat them like the VIPs they are!

ASK THEM WHAT THEY NEED

Survey your audience and ask them what they need so that you provide them with the most value. You can do this by:

  • Surveys within Facebook groups, Instagram lives, etc.
  • Creating a quiz (you get double opt-in points here!)
  • Create a google form to send to your list

The trick here is to make it quick and easy + offer incentive for them to participate.

SOLVE A PROBLEM

Get creative about problem solving. In addition to your freebie and valuable blog posts, offer free assessments that relate to your service.

And like I mentioned above, ask them what they need and figure out new ways to meet those needs.

GET ON SOCIAL MEDIA WITHOUT A CALL TO ACTION

This is the key to nurturing, calls to action are dope but to get people in your inner circle, when you’re on social media, don’t just promote your products and services. Give them insight into your life, engage with your followers, ask THEM for advice. This is how you use social media to take someone from an insta-stalker to a warm buyer.

These are the methods I use for my own business and THEY WORK.

But remember, do what fits your biz and feels right for you. Step out of your comfort zone. Uplevel. We need your magic out here, Girl! ✨

Now roll up your sleeves, create your action plan, and grow and nurture that community so they’ll be ready to work with you during your next launch.
